Belarusian tennis-player Viktoria Azarenko successfully started the 2008 US Women’s Open in New York.

In the first round Viktoria defeated Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic. The next opponent of the Belarusian tennis-player is Iveta Benesova from the Czech Republic, too.

Another representative of Belarus, Olga Govortsova, is to play her first match against the Czech Sandra Zahlavova on August 26.

Belarusian tennis-players will also compete in women’s doubles.
