The agricultural industry of the oblast is a branchy network of companies involved in the growing and processing of agricultural products and in the servicing of the relevant equipment and facilities.

The total farmland of the oblast is 1256,5 thousand hectares. There are 315 agricultural producers and 395 private farms.

The agricultural companies of the oblast are participating in the programs ‘Flax’, ‘Fruit-Growing’, ‘Vegetable-Growing’, ‘Potato-Growing’ and ‘Phytopreparations’.

47 companies are involved in the processing of agricultural products, including 20 flax factories, 5 meat-packing factories, 10 milk plants, 4 tinned food factories, a fruit and vegetable growing factory, 3 wineries, 2 distilleries and 2 breweries.
