The leading construction enterprises of Vitebsk oblast are the following: construction trust No9 in the town of Vitebsk, construction and assembly trust No16 in the town of Novopolotsk, construction trust No18 in the town of Orsha, Neftezavodmontazh company in the town of Novopolotsk, construction trust No22 in the town of Polotsk, Vitebsk house-building industrial complex, specialized organizations of trusts Belsantekhmontazh, Belelektromontazh, Belteploizolyatsyia, Beltransstroi, Belsvyazstroi, road-building trust No1.

Most construction in the rural areas is performed by the companies Vitebskselstroi and association Polotskselstroi. Vitebskoblremstroi is primarily responsible for repair works and reconstruction of houses in the oblast.

Today the construction industry of the oblast comprises 402 contracting construction and assembly organizations which employ around 30 thousand people. These include 160 small construction companies and cooperatives of various patterns of ownership.
