The information field of Vitebsk oblast features 26 state-run newspapers (including 2 oblast newspapers, 2 unified, 2 town, 19 regional papers and 1 advertiser) and 44 private newspapers (socio-political, advertisers and tabloid papers).

The Vitebsk TV and Radio Company broadcasts two radio programs. Besides there are 15 town and regional radio programs and 5 privately-owned FM radio stations. Such national newspapers as Zvyazda, Sovetskaya Belorussiya – Belarus Segodnya, Respublika, Belaruskaya Niva, Narodnaya Gazeta have their news bureaus in the oblast as well as such information agencies as BelTA, the Belarusian national TV News Agency and the national radio.
